A few fun facts about me

If you lived nearby I'd suggest we go to a coffee shop and we could swap facts about each other. That would be much more interesting than a boring bio about me. But please let me know about you by sending me an email from my contact page.

Now for a few facts . . .

Prince Philip patted me on the head when I was a baby sitting in my pram outside the Belfast City Hall.

My debut novel is set during the British Raj because some of my Irish ancestors served in the army and cavalry during the flamboyant era of British Colonial India.

My great grandfather and my grandfather (on my father's side) both worked as riveters in the building of the Titanic in the Belfast shipyard.

My family immigrated to Canada when I was 4 years old, and I've lived in a number of provinces covering the entire country. The Pacific West Coast is home to my husband and me, and our grown up children. In the Fraser Valley, we look out on mountains which remind us of God's love--a vanguard of care and protection.

But before I met my husband, I gave birth to a baby girl and because I wanted the very best for her I relinquished her to adoption. In faith that God would bring our lives together again one day, I named her Sarah. Twenty years later God did indeed reunite us, and Sarah and I have a wonderful relationship as birthmom and birthdaughter. If you'd like to read how God did some amazing things for us, and how she ended up being the model for the front cover of my debut novel, click here on The Story Behind the Cover.

God has been so good to me, I cannot thank Him enough. I write to glorify Him and bless others. Because I believe what Christ said about Himself -- He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
